Dry Creek Falls is a great casual, family-friendly waterfall hike in the Gorge. If I had small children, ths is a trail I’d happily bring them on. The grade is gentle, there are no cliffside traverses on wet and mossy basalt. In fact, there is basically nothing to worry too much about even with rowdy kids. The 4.4 mile roundtrip and 710 feet of elevation gain qualify it as an actual hike, while still being tame enough to be enjoyed by even very young hikers.
But even if you aren’t a novice hiker, Dry Creek Falls is a great destination. Next time you cross Bridge of the Gods, pull into the parking lot on the Oregon side and stretch your legs for an hour.
