For my birthday Jaehee planned me a biking trip. On Friday night we drove up to Issaquah, an epicenter of great mountain biking just east of Seattle.
Saturday morning I headed off to Tiger mountain while it was still dark. I pedaled to the summit in pouring rain and descended via Off the Grid to Predator. My tires were sliding everywhere, my eyes were full of mud, my hands were cramping from the cold and wet. But it was so much fun! As soon as I rolled out of Predator, I jumped in the car, spreading mud all over everything, and drove to Duthie Hill to session some freeride lines.
From Duthie I raced back to our hotel. With just 20 minutes before checkout I climbed in the shower fully clothed, including my backpack, and rinsed off more mud than seemed possible. At noon, with a packed day of crazy mountain biking under my belt, we took off for part two of my birthday on Whidbey Island. What a great day!
